Keep in mind that sometimes the terminology and common words we use today may not have existed in the time period you are searching.

Latinx is a fairly modern term that has been in use only the past ten years or so. Try doing multiple searches using variant (probably outdated) terms like latino/latina, hispanic, "latin american", chicano/a, or other terms that were common in the time period you are searching.

For most of the 20th Century in the US, people of Latin American descent were referred to as their own distinct nationalities, or not categorized at all. Mexicans and Puerto Ricans, for example, were categorized as white on the Census. This makes researching Latinx topics particularly challenging, but  doing several searches with variant names should give you better results.

A general search hint: when reading any catalog record, follow the links found at "Subjects" to locate other material in the SU Libraries on that same subject.
