If you want to download data and you are challenged for a login, and you have accessed the databases from Sawyer Library links:


It just means that IMF wants you to use an account to manage the statistics you download. But you don't really need to do this. Instead of picking the top two options to use the data (Predefined Data Reports and Build Your Own Query), pick the option for Query Within a Dataset, as illustrated here:

If you want to create a dataset longer than the last few years, here is another tip:

On the page you pick from the "Query with a Dataset" options, don't just take the default.  Click on the time link and then change the settings in the drop-down box of the following page.

There is also no need to click "Download."  Instead, click the View Data green button option, and then click the Excel icon in the upper right of the next page (when it loads) to download the data you've selected.  As illustrated here:
